## **Nature of the CONTXTFUL connector**

The CONTXTFUL connector is a code included in an existing ad tag, web page or application. The operation and maintenance of the existing ad tag, web page or application is the responsibility of the customer.

The CONTXTFUL connector is launched and executed as a background process by the host browser or application. It requires no authentication of the mobile device’s user and only runs locally.

The connector only connects to CONTXTFUL servers asynchronously using a standard REST SSL-secured protocol. For the ad tag and web page format is uses this communication channel to send data to be process server-side. For the application implementation the communication channel is used to synchronize a local configuration file or to transmit the collected data.

## **Data we Process**

### <u>What we process</u>

We collect fully anonymous meta-data and sensor data

- Meta-data : Current website, time (day and time), type of device (phone, tablet, etc)
- Sensor data : Acceleration, rate of rotation, linear acceleration, magnetic field (Accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer)

All data is collected by the CONTXTFUL Receptivity connector. The data collection process is always controlled by the customer, who has the ability to implement the initialization and termination functions of the process.

Nothing else is collected or processed by the CONTXTFUL connector.

### <u>Technologies used in collecting data</u>

- Only standard browser-based HTML and javascript access are required for the ad tag and web page connector to to function as intended.
- For the applications, only standard Android and iOS libraries are leveraged by the connector to provide access to the data.

### <u>What we don’t collect</u>

- We don't collect IDs, user information or PII data.
- We don't use or access cookies.
- We don't collect information from the OS or browser (we don't fingerprint devices)
- We don't collect information on the current page (no web scraping for content)
- We don't require access to the publisher's servers, DMP or other external information.
- We don't require user permission as all information is HTML5 and mobileOS standard access.

## **Data we measure**

We measure each connected device for one second; every second for Receptivity for Advertisers, and on demand when it comes to Receptivity for Publishers.

## **Data and re-targeting**

CONTXTFUL never uses data for retargeting. We don't track IDs of use cookies or fingerprint devices. There is no way for us to re-target viewers.

## **Data and privacy**

- CONTXTFUL data is anonymous data. We ensure the highest standards in our work. You can read our Privacy Policy <u>[here](https://www.contxtful.com/Privacy/)</u>
- We are GDPR compliant and are part of Google's GDPR certified partners. See the full list <u>[here](https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/9012903)</u>.

## **Where the data is stored**

The databases are hosted on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure.

The account management tool is performed by the administrator of the email infrastructure on GSuite and used by the GCP infrastructure to ensure centralization of information and consolidate security management.

All non-private information collected exists exclusively on a cloud infrastructure to which access is limited to CONTXTFUL employees, and only on a need-to-access basis. Connecting to the infrastructure requires an account managed by CONTXTFUL.

Access is controlled by a single administrator, requires a  computer configured by CONTXTFUL, an RSA key and Two-Factor Authentication. Access to databases is limited to read-only for everyone except the administrator. No data is downloaded locally.

All data is compressed and encrypted. It can only be used by CONTXTFUL’s analysis tools.

The data analysis, decompression and decryption tools are not hosted on the same infrastructure as the data and requires another 2FA system. The infrastructure hosting the tools is also only accessible by CONTXTFUL accounts on a limited basis, depending on the needs of each employee.

All analysis operations are performed on ephemeral virtual machines. Connection to these virtual machines requires an RSA key and can only be carried out with an account managed by CONTXTFUL on a computer authorized by CONTXTFUL. Virtual machines are destroyed after each scan operation.

## **How to connect the data**

With a simple connector you can connect any project. A simple Impression event tag for advertisers, a simple <script> tag for web sites and a library initialisation for applications.

## **Who has access to the data**

Only CONTXTFUL has access to the collected raw data.

### **How to opt-out**

Each connected device has a function in the system preferences that lets users turn off the ability for a web browser to access the motion sensors. If you do not wish to have your device’s sensors accessed by Receptivity’s products, you can turn off access on an individual browser-basis.
